Okay, so Microsoft offers a free Windows 10 upgrade. What could go wrong?

Endless reboot cycle. Windows must restart to finish applying upgrade.

Anybody else run into this? Any suggestions?

Let it run. It's likely installing drivers and stuff. My custom self-built rig did the same thing, but my WinBook TW802, Surface Pro 3, and a few laptops all got it in less than two reboots.

I put my work desktop (self-built) and work laptop on win 10. Haven’t done my home desktop yet, becuase I want to replace a couple hard drives. Had a few reboot/don’t know what’s up issues with the desktop. Did a revert to win 7, then went back to win 10 twice. Everything worked, except solidworks.

Maybe try reverting to 7 (assuming that’s what you were on), then going to 10 again?

I’m so sorry. I haven’t had any issues with the Windows 10 upgrade, but I don’t exactly feel it was entirely worth the wait.

What instance of SW are you running. I’m toying with building golden images forbmy entire company with win10. SW 11 works well with w10 so far. But I’m about to conduct the upgrade to 2016 server and client sides.

How long has this been going on? When I did the upgrade it did reboot a bunch of times, but even with all the reboots it only took about 15-20 minutes. This was on a 6 month old laptop running an SSD, so YMMV. From what others were saying the whole process should take less than an hour .

If it has been longer than that maybe try reverting to your previous version of Windows and making sure that version has all of its latest updates installed.

2015. Apparently they just released a new SP to work with win 10, but I haven't installed it yet.

Do you have UWT 4.0?

This helped me get rid of a bunch of extraneous crap on my IT dev build
